Who?  Anyone who wants to pick up gifts that are unique or buy one of a kind home decor items.

What? The Bombay Store, a trove of unique items from all over India.

How? The Bombay Store whose tagline is “Discover a New India” has multiple locations in Mumbai and beyond.  I am partial to their store in Fort, Mumbai, but you can shop at any of their locations listed at the link below:

Why?  Every time I am in India, a stop at one or more locations of the Bombay Store is an absolute must do on my list.  What brings me back to this store time and again is their extensive array of beautiful items representing a variety of art and talent from all over India at prices that do not break the bank.  From fabric wall hangings to intricate wood work panels, scarves and ties to beautiful bed spreads, handmade paper to candles, Ganesha idols playing musical instruments or doing yoga, the list runs the gamut.  Not only are these beautiful purchases, but the items I have adorning my home have given me so much joy over the years.

Even if you don’t want to buy anything, a walk through the Bombay Store is just a visual delight of colors, textures and shapes.  But, for that, you don’t just need to limit yourself to the Bombay Store.  Any visit to Mumbai or for that matter any other city in India is simply a feast for all senses.
